The United Arab Emirates is strengthening its global leadership in countering extremism and terrorism.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has appointed Maqsoud Kruse as the UAE’s Envoy for Countering Extremism and Terrorism. The appointment underscores the UAE’s firm commitment to international cooperation and its vision of promoting tolerance, coexistence, and moderation, while actively confronting hate speech, discrimination, and violent extremism.

In his new role, the envoy will work to enhance global partnerships, represent the UAE at major international conferences, and support the implementation of international resolutions, including those issued by the United Nations Security Council, aimed at combating extremism and terrorism.

Maqsoud Kruse expressed his sincere appreciation to Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed for the trust and confidence placed in him. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with international partners and to conveying the UAE’s experience and strategic vision in strengthening global efforts against extremism and terrorism, as well as in sharing expertise and best practices.
